07. The Sunny Side

For our capstone project I was approached by director Sam Kilpatrick to produce a short documentary on Toronto-based artist Alfred Engerer.

Alfred’s artistic works span decades, and his mediums include glass art and photography.

It’s not an easy task to distill one life story into a single project. We found focus in Alfred’s work as a glass artist and exploration of Toronto’s dying arts scene, as evidenced by the demolition of his studio space in the West End to accommodate the development of yet another condominium.
